Funny Faces, Pixie Hats, and Outtakes and More - Tucson Newborn Photographer

Last month I had one of my favorite maternity photo shoots ever. The weather was gorgeous, the location was perfect, the lighting was to die for, and the expecting couple was more than lovely. Last week I was able to meet their darling newborn boy. He was so, so sleepy when he arrived. We were able to get in some wonderful poses and backdrops before he woke up. After he awoke he was full of funny faces and completely straight legs that stood straight up (which was the way he was positioned in his mommy's stomach, I hear). We were able to get some lovely family pics at my in-home studio and I'm so happy with how these came out. So wonderful to get to meet your new family of three!

A Sweet Little Family - Tucson Family Photographer

It's been amazing to watch this family grown! I first met this couple during their maternity shoot earlier this year, and again for their adorable baby's newborn pictures. Now that their son is six months old it was time for another family photo shoot. We headed out to Agua Caliente park just in time to catch the gorgeous sun hitting the tall grass. I'm constantly amazed at how beautiful Tucson can be. Hope you enjoy!

A Gorgeous Engagement Shoot - Tucson Engagement Photographer

I was so bummed a few weekends ago when the forecast called for completely cloudy skies with no chance of sun. Luckily, we found a tiny streak of sunshine and it helped to create a BEAUTIFUL backdrop during this engagement shoot. Love the way these pictures turned out!

Sweet Newborn Baby Girl- Tucson Newborn Photographer

Oh, this was a fun photo shoot! It's always so great when I get to work with a really sleepy baby who will let me use fun hats, switch backdrops, and stay in cute poses. Her parents were so sweet and excited for this little one (who was super little!) and we had a great time capturing them interacting with her. One of her pictures (where baby is propped on her hands), was one of my most popular facebook pictures this year. Hope you enjoy seeing more pics of this adorable baby!

What I'm Thankful For- A Personal Post

Thanksgiving in my favorite holiday and has been since I was a child. I love the family togetherness. I love the endless amounts of food. And I love that this holiday is about being thankful.

Here's what I'm thankful for:

1) The hope that I've found in Jesus. I know myself, and I know that I will never be good enough for God. I'm so thankful that He's made a way for me to forever be with Him through the death and resurrection of Jesus. I'm so thankful for the hope that He will one day make all things right.

2) My super incredible husband (aka. Mr. Wonderful) and the three kids who have stolen my heart. My husband is the most supportive and caring person and I am so, so thankful for him. I couldn't have asked for more precious children and I thank God every day that He continues to let me care for them.

3) My parents who are my constant figurative (and occasionally literal) cheerleaders and who love my kids more than I could have ever imagined, and my little brother and sister in law who are so much fun, are our regular encouragement, and in a very real way my heros.

4) Two grandparents that have lived well into their nineties. Ah-ma-zing. My kids will remember four of their great grandparents and this makes me oh so happy.

5) Our extended family, our church, my lifelong friends, our new friends, our home, our country.

6) Breaks in the day to think about what I'm thankful for. A cup of hot coffee. A long run. My old dog still snoring at night. Reminders that my life is not about me.

7) My photographic obsession and this lovely little business. Thank you all for the support you've been over the past year and a half of BG Photography. I love this job and am so thankful for how you've helped me grow through this.

Love this holiday. Now it's time to eat. :)

They May Have Come Out of a Magazine and Into My Camera - Tucson Family Photographer

This family could have stepped out of a magazine and straight into my camera...that's just how good they were at having their portraits taken. For several years now this cute family has had Christmas pictures taken, and I was so glad they asked me to be a part of their tradition this year. We met at my new favorite shooting location (which is right next to a Mexican pastry shop...yum!) and we were threatened to be rained out. We decided to keep the appointment and I was so glad we did because we had incredible clouds in the backdrop of each picture. This family couldn't have been any nicer or more fun...such a great way to spend my Saturday morning!

If you're interested in having me take your family portraits (after seeing these cute pictures, I know you will be:) ), feel free to email me at yvette@bgphotography.bi.

All Boy - Tucson Family Photographer

I was so glad to take pictures for this family again! I took Christmas pictures for this fun family last year, when they were just a family of four. Now that they have their third boy it was time to update their family portraits and boy did we get some fun shots in! My favorite part of the my time with this sweet family actually took place after their session was over. Mom messaged me and asked if she could change her mind about me photoshopping our the large cut on her middle son's forehead. She said, "It'll just make him look like a tough cowboy." Love that attitude.

Yes, they really are this fun - Tucson Family Photographer

There are times that I leave a session just knowing that I'm going to have incredible pictures. I'll be so anxious to see the pictures that I'll sit in my car right after the shoot and I'll start flipping through the pics on my 2.5 inch camera screen. This was totally one of those times. I sat in my car eating warm tortillas (my weakness!) (and yes, this location has fresh tortillas right next door!) while I oohed and ahhed at the shots. This family is so full of life and love and hope, and it's been a privilege to get to know them over the years. We were sure to grab a few pictures for their Christmas cards and then I spent a lot of time trying to capture the essence of who they are as a family (aka. tons of candids). So happy to do these pics for them...

Mr. "Go, Go, Go, Go...On an Adventure!" - Tucson Child and Family Photographer

I'm not going to lie...I had to work for these pictures! This adorable little boy was all about running, jumping, and exploring. I had to keep laughing at how similar this photo shoot is to my regular life...chasing a sweet little boy everywhere with a camera trying to catch him in his most natural boy-like state. His parents were so sweet, letting him enjoy this new hang-out spot. We had a great morning together...and then I think we all crashed for the rest of the day. :)

Thanks for trusting BG Photography with your family portraits!
