A Family Reunion! - Tucson Family Photographer

I love family reunions! Lots of little kids running around, tons to eat, and millions of old family stories. I was so glad to photograph this large family during their week-long family reunion. We met in their childhood home and spent about two hours taking pictures of each of the families, kids, parents, grandparents, and had some time for group shots at the end. I love being a Tucson photographer because I know that we'll still be able to take outdoor pictures at the end of October, wearing short sleeves and going bare footed. We were lucky to find another gorgeous sunset that evening, and even though it was dinner time and one of the little ones was running a fever, we ended up with a lovely photo shoot with some spectacular shots. So glad to have helped you all document your time together!

We found the sun- Tucson Maternity Photographer

Not too long ago I said to this gorgeous momma, "You're pregnant?!!?" All of the sudden her baby boy decided that he wanted the world to know that he would soon be making his entrance. So in about a week, her baby belly went from flat to popping...and now we're doing her maternity pictures to help her remember these wonderful days leading up to his birth.

We found incredible light and the most magnificent sunset during our shoot at Agua Caliente park. I get so excited when we can incorporate shinny bright sun in a maternity photo shoot because I think it highlights how sweet and happy this time of life can be. Not only was the sun incredible, but you've gotta love finding a place with trees and water in Tucson!

Well baby boy, take it easy on your momma over the next month before your arrival. Congratulations!

Senior Time! - Tucson Senior Photographer

I had such a great time with this lovely girl last weekend. Not only was she fun and outgoing, she was so excited about her pictures and loved photography. We had so much fun talking photography and posing, and she did such an incredible job in front of the camera. I loved this location and the sun was our friend. If you're interested in booking your senior session with me, contact me at yvette@bgphotography.biz.

My First Learning to Shoot Class - Tucson Photographer

It's amazing to think that my first Learning to Shoot class is done. I had been thinking about and preparing for this photography 101 class for the last few months, and I almost can't believe that I won't be spending my evenings working on it any longer (though I'm sure my husband will be glad to have me back! :) ).

The first Learning to Shoot group consisted of ten students and they were all there to learn how to better handle their cameras and to take better pictures. Some students were hoping to capture better candid pictures of their children, some wanted to improve their landscape photography, and others wanted more natural pics of their four-legged kiddo. We spent the morning sessions going over the more technical aspects of photography and learning the various functions and modes of their cameras, and in the afternoon we went over composition and how to make their pictures fun and interesting. At the end of the day we had a final project and prizes were awarded to the top two pictures. Susie and Joyce did such a great job with their pictures!

Susie's awesome bear shot, winning her first prize!

Joyce's figurine picture that took home the 2nd place prize.

It was so great to look around and see everyone having a genuinely fun time! One of the students said of their experience, " I really, really enjoyed the class, the information, the liveliness of the instructor. Really informative, helpful, and fun! Looking forward to class 201!" And another student said, "It was fun, never had a dull moment!"

So, will I teach a Learning to Shoot class again? Absolutely! I'm looking at another class at the beginning of the year. And what about a follow-up, Learning to Shoot: 201 class? It too will be in the works. Email me at yvette@bgphotography.biz if you'd like to be informed when dates and times are set. I'd love to have you join me!

Well, after lots and lots of work, my first Learning to Shoot class is over. It was definitely a labor of love and I'm kind of sad to see it gone. But at least I'll keep the friends and memories. Cheesy, I know...but it's true! :)

He's Home and He's Adorable! - Tucson Newborn Photographer

I have been waiting for about twenty-five years to meet this baby. Well, kind of. I met his mom when we were really little and we became life long friends. We played house together. We day-dreamed about the time when we'd both have a husband and babies. So when I found out my friend was pregnant I began counting down the days until I could finally see this baby. And I didn't have to wait as long as we'd expected. This adorable little one came into this world five weeks early. He's home from the hospital, he's doing wonderfully and is just as adorable as we dreamed him to be when we were little.

I brought all of my backdrops, hats, and various newborn-photoshoot-supplies and was ready to do my normal sweet, slumbering baby pics...but this sweet little one had other plans (as you can see in the first set of pictures). We switched to plan b and moved towards a family documentary session...and I couldn't be happier about these pictures.

Congratulations you three on your adorable family!
