Pictures for the WHOLE family - Tucson Family Photographer

I've said this numerous times on this blog, but I really enjoy getting to photograph things that are a bit out of the ordinary.  This desire to keep things new and fresh really goes against my normal type-A, stick-to-what-you're-good-at nature, but all the changing faces/personalities/settings/subjects make me love photography. This afternoon's shoot had just the prescription of variety I was craving.

Yep, you're seeing this correctly. Two parents, two kids, two dogs, and two dragons (which I kept mistakenly referring to as "lizards").

Oh, and did I mention two horses, too?

After some fun with the pets we aimed for family shots...but the dragons stayed close by (check out the branch two pics down!).

Because I know how much I love to stare at pictures of my baby girl, I had to get individual shots of these two for their mom.

Thanks so much for the great afternoon and the fun challenge! And for my final shot...

Maybe I should go into dragon photography? :)

Three Boys, One Lady, and a Pair of Dinosaurs - Tucson Family Photographer

This evening I had the privilege of photographing a really spectacular family. This couple was so sweet and loving towards each other, and their kids were really fun and did so well with the camera. I love that my job allows me to interact with such great people and I'm excited to get to share these pics with you.

Big brother was all about the dinosaurs and he was begging to have them in every shot. I was able to get this adorable shot of him only after I convinced him that the dinos would have their place in the pic as well. :)

We found an enclosed space and were able to let the boys run around while mom and dad took some time for themselves. I love the candid nature of these photos and how genuine they are with each other.

Mom brought along some super cute hats for the end of the shoot. I had to ask where she got them because I need to get some for my kids!

It was so neat to meet you all this weekend and I hope to see you again soon. And if anyone is interested, mom has an awesome business selling cloth diapers (hooray for cloth diapers!) and natural baby products. Check her website here.

A Family and their Princess

This evening I met the sweetest family. They were so warm and friendly, laid back and fun...all the things a photographer loves to find when photographing families with little ones. What made the evening even more fun was the fact that their kids were about the same age as my kids, so I knew what to expect during the shoot (aka. lots of running around!) and I knew that I'd have a great time.

When working with young kids I like to try to find something that motivates them and helps keep their attention during the shoot. We quickly found that "acting like a princess" was just the right motivator to keep this adorable little girl going. Some times we had to dance like a princess...

And sometimes kiss like a princess...

And sometimes just pose like a princess.

Baby brother was quite the sweetie, too. At just six months of age, this little boy adores his big sister and was so pleasant to photograph.

I just love to see cuddly families!

The princess started to get tuckered out towards the end of the evening.

And for my favorite shot. This one comes right before the family was headed off to cupcakes as a reward. Love it!

It was a blast hanging out with you and your sweet princess this evening! Now off to my own little princess!

A Sweet Couple and their Pup - Tucson Couple Photographer

Sometimes you just know when you walk away from a session that you're gonna wind up with some spectacular images. That's exactly what happened this weekend after I took pics of Ashley, Patrick, and their super sweet (and obedient!) pup. Because they tend to move around quite a bit they asked if we could start off with pics in their home. It turned out to be a perfect backdrop for some wonderful candid shots (my favorite type of photography!).

After some indoor shots we headed outdoors and found this great courtyard nearby. We had to bring the pup along, and he came with all his Christmas cheer. :)

And just as the sun was setting we found time for a few more pics at home.

And for my favorite...

Thanks for letting me capture just a bit of your life. It was so great to meet you two!
